Activities for Daily Living

Activities for Daily Living (ADLs) are essential life skills that play a crucial role in fostering independence and confidence in students within a special school curriculum.

Integrating ADLs into our teaching and learning program ensures that students develop practical skills, such as personal care, meal preparation, and community navigation, which are vital for their everyday lives. To enhance this learning, we incorporate excursions and incursions that align with ADLs and our broader curriculum goals.

These real-world experiences provide students with opportunities to practice and apply their skills in different settings, reinforcing their learning and preparing them for greater autonomy outside of the school environment. Through a structured and supportive approach, we aim to empower our students with the tools they need to thrive both in school and in their daily lives.

Educators will often explore ADLs during regular parent/caregiver meetings and notify parents and guardians of excursion opportunities as they arise.
